In terms of still image quality, the Panasonic GF1 gets almost everything right. Colors are accurate when using the default Standard setting, with lots of scope to adjust the JPEG output to suit your own tastes, and the auto white balance is spot-on in most lighting conditions. ..."

It's not quite as stylish as the Olympus E-P1, but it offers faster autofocus, a pop-up flash, and support for an optional electronic viewfinder which that camera lacks. ...
It's safe to say that you can't get a better endorsement than having a reviewer buying the camera they are writing about. The GF1 isn't my main digital SLR - I have a D300s for my high ISO image quality, wide lens selection, and quick continuous shooting needs. But for travel and everyday shooting, the GF1 more than fits the bill. ..." |

| Review (Summary): "The [Panasonic] GF1 trumps the [Olympus] EP-1 in several areas, including much superior autofocus, a much higher resolution rear LCD, superior menu interface, and the availability of an optional electronic viewfinder. Oh yes, and a "pancake" 20mm (40mm equivalent) f/1.7 lens as part of a kit with the body.
... the GF1 is likely the best of breed at the moment, but not a panacea for someone looking for a semi-pocketable large sensor camera. When combined with the LVF1 electronic viewfinder the camera starts to have an overall profile close to that of the GH1 ..." |
