Tuesday, 05/14/13 - Canon today announced a new super-telephoto zoom lens, the EF 200-400mm f/4L IS USM Extender 1.4x, which as the name implies has an integrated 1.4x focal length extender, as well as a high-performance Image Stabilization system for exceptional shooting flexibility and range, ideal for sports or wildlife photography. The lens also utilizes inner focusing, ring USM, a high-speed CPU and optimized AF algorithms for fast and accurate autofocusing. Quiet and smooth focus shifts - essential for filmmaking - are made possible with Canon's Power Focus mode.
Friday, 05/10/13 - Olympus Imaging Corporation is pleased to announce the introduction of the OLYMPUS PEN E-P5 mirrorless interchangeable-lens camera, the flagship of the PEN Series conforming to the Micro Four Thirds System standard. The OLYMPUS PEN E-P5 carries on the essence of the design found in all OLYMPUS PEN cameras and advances its appearance to a new level, as is appropriate for a flagship product that brings the series itself up to a higher step. The shape of the top deck as viewed from above retains that of the OLYMPUS PEN E-P3 to give it the sense of being a piece with the tilting LCD, while the design of the OLYMPUS PEN E-P1 is retained for the silhouette view of the front. It is scheduled to go on sale in the end of June 2013.
Wednesday, 04/24/13 - The oldest and most popular digital photography workshop at sea will embark from Seattle, WA, for an 8-day cruise on the Celebrity Solstice, August 30th through September 6th, 2013. Enrollment is limited to 12 attendees who will visit Ketchikan, Juneau, Sawyer Glacier and Skagway in Alaska, and Victoria, BC in Canada before returning to Seattle.
Now in its 12th year, the workshop has built its reputation by enabling photographers at all skill levels to quickly improve their work by using proven professional techniques. Photographs taken by past workshop participants have appeared in national magazines and books and many former attendees have become professionally involved in photography.
